Miriam Quiambao visits CHILD Foundation

Ms. Mirriam Quiambao, Binibing Pilipinas Universe 1999 and Ms. Universe First Runner up, visited PGH and CHILD Foundation office last March 6, 2013 to give her cash donation together with donations solicited from friends. The donation amounting to Php148,000.00 was used to procure 2 infusion pumps for the use of patients admitted at the Pediatrics wards in PGH. Together with Dr. Juliet Sio-Aguilar and Ms. Joy Deanon, President and Executive Director respectively of CHILD Foundation, she visited Wards 9 & 11 and met with the students of Silahis ng Kalusugan, a school for chronically-ill children being supported by the Foundation. The Dedication of Teddy Rey Healing Place

CHILD Foundation, Inc. pays tribute to Partners and Donors

The second Donors’ Luncheon was held last January 31, 2013 in honor of the various corporations and organizations who have supported The CHILD Foundation, Inc. The luncheon tribute, held at Miggy’s Garden of the Department of Pediatrics, UPCM-PGH was also an occasion to introduce the new President of the Foundation in the person of Dr. Juliet Sio-Aguilar, also the current Chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics, UPCM-PGH. One of the highlights of the event was the testimony of Ms. Julienne Kim Manalang who shared her heartwarming story on how she survived after being born with a severe medical condition in March 1983. Through the dedication and perseverance of the PGH doctors, nurses and staff,she survived that ordeal and is now a healthy, young professional. (view more of Kim's sharing during the program)...

PCNC grants donee status to CHILD Foundation

The Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) granted the CHILD Foundation, Inc. one (1) year certification for donee institution status. The PCNC is a private voluntary, non-stock, non-profit corporation serves as a service organization whose main function is to certify non-profit organizations that meet established minimum criteria for financial management and accountability in the service to underprivileged Filipinos. Through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the Department of Finance authorizes the PCNC to accredit NGOs applying for donee institution status, as long as these NGOs meet the minimum standards for certification. The certification from PCNC would then serve as the basis for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to grant donee institution status to NGOs which have been certified by the PCNC and donations to these certified donee institutions can be deducted from the donor's income tax

Dedication of Pedia's Day Infusion/Transfusion Room

The Department of Pediatrics had the blessing and dedication of the Day Infusion/Transfusion Room located at the back of Ward 11 on February 17, 2012. The room will be used as daytime facility for procedures such as enzyme replacement therapy infusions, blood transfusions, and administration of chemotherapy and other medications. It may also be used as a holding area for patients who underwent biopsies and require observation for a few hours prior to discharge. From a play room, the place was converted to the Day Infusion/Transfusion Room through the help of Genzyme Corporation, Climb Against Cancer/Ride Against Cancer, Metrobank Foundation and the Dream 60 Fundraising Campaign initiated by Ms. Teresa Custodio, in partnership with Mr. Dindo Magallanes and the Juan Lualhati Cojuangco Foundation, Inc. The Day Infusion/Transfusion Room has a 3-bed and 4-reclining chair capacity for use of patients from different subspecialties, namely, GIN, Allergy, Hematology-Oncology, Genetics, Renal and Rheumatology

To recognize and give thanks to its donors and partners for the past years, CHILD Foundation, Inc. held its very first Donors’ Luncheon on January 20, 2011, from 10:30am-1:00pm at Miggy’s Garden of the Department of Pediatrics, UP-PGH.
