On March 26, 2010, a special lecture on Tuberculosis was delivered by Pediatric Pulmonology fellow Dr. Frimm Cagas at the Pediatrics Audiovisual Room. The lecture highlighted on the importance of complete treatment, preventive measures and available resources provided by the government. Patients and guardians from the different wards of the Philippines General Hospital attended the lecture. The interactive session was well received by the audience. Patients diagnosed with or ongoing treatment for tuberculosis were also enrolled in the Department of Health’s D.O.T.S. program allowing them to receive free medications for the entire treatment course.
This event was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Sussette Nacario, a third year pediatric resident. The activity was jointly sponsored of the Department of Pediatrics and CHILD Foundation, Inc.
